Alpha-H Cleansers

Cleaners for every skin type from the Australian skincare brand

Alpha-H cleansers form the foundation of a thoughtful skincare routine. From waterless cleansing balms that effortlessly remove even stubborn makeup to active gel cleansers with 2% salicylic acid for problem skin — the Australian brand offers a scientifically backed cleansing solution for every skin type.

A good cleanser does more than remove dirt. The way you cleanse your skin directly determines how well subsequent serums, treatments, and moisturizers can work. The Alpha-H cleansing collection is deliberately built around the principle of pH respect and barrier-friendly formulas, so the skin feels comfortable after washing rather than tight or dry.

Why choose Alpha-H cleansers?

Since 1995, Alpha-H has been a leader in cosmeceutical skincare from Australia. The brand’s cleansers stand out for three core principles: they respect the skin’s natural pH balance, are all sulfate-free, and combine ingredients with proven efficacy with formulas comfortable enough for daily use. Whether it’s a cream cleanser for sensitive skin or a gel cleanser with 2% salicylic acid for back acne — every formula is developed to support the skin barrier, not challenge it.

Find your ideal cleanser

Dry or sensitive skin: The Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser is a creamy, non-foaming cream cleanser with aloe vera and vitamin E. It cleanses without disturbing the skin barrier or pH and immediately soothes redness and sensitivity.

Combination or oily skin without breakouts: The Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser is a gel cleanser with thyme extract, aloe vera, and cucumber. It combines cleanser, toner, and makeup remover in one and regulates excess sebum without drying out.

Problem skin and body acne: The Alpha-H Clear Skin Face and Body Wash contains 2% salicylic acid and niacinamide. Suitable for use on face and body against blemishes, back acne, and keratosis pilaris. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Makeup or SPF wearers: The Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm is a waterless balm that melts at skin temperature into a silky oil. Also removes waterproof makeup and stubborn sunscreen filters in one step.

Use of tonics: The Alpha-H Reusable Bamboo Cotton Pads are reusable cotton pads made from bamboo and organic cotton. A sustainable alternative to disposable pads, ideal for exfoliating toners like Liquid Gold.

How to use an Alpha-H cleanser?

In the evening, the skin works hardest to remove makeup, SPF, sebum, and environmental pollutants. A double cleanse — two consecutive cleansing steps — is the most thorough approach. In the morning, usually one step is sufficient.

1. First remove all makeup and SPF with the Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm. Massage onto dry skin, add lukewarm water, and rinse off
2. Follow with a second cleanser suited to your skin type: Balancing Cleanser for dry or sensitive skin, Triple Action Cleanser for combination or oily skin, or Clear Skin Face and Body Wash for blemishes
3. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat the face dry with a clean towel
4. Optionally apply an exfoliating toner like Alpha-H Liquid Gold using an Alpha-H Reusable Bamboo Cotton Pad
5. Continue with serum and moisturizer, and always finish with sun protection as the last step in the morning

Frequently asked questions

Which Alpha-H cleanser is suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

The Melting Moment Cleansing Balm, Balancing Cleanser, and Triple Action Cleanser are all safely classified for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The Clear Skin Face and Body Wash contains 2% salicylic acid and is advised against during these periods as a precaution.

What is the difference between a double cleanse and just cleansing once?

A double cleanse first uses an oil-based cleanser like a balm to dissolve makeup, SPF, and oily dirt. Then follows a water-based cleanser that removes sweat, sebum, and water-soluble impurities. One step alone rarely removes everything, especially on days with SPF or makeup. In the morning, one cleansing step is usually enough.

Can I use an active cleanser with salicylic acid every day?

Yes, the 2% salicylic acid in the Clear Skin Face and Body Wash is balanced for daily use thanks to the short contact time on the skin and the presence of glycerin and aloe vera. For sensitive skin, it is wise to start with once a day and gradually increase.

How do I combine an Alpha-H cleanser with other active products like Liquid Gold?

Always start with clean, dry skin. After cleansing, an exfoliating toner like Liquid Gold can be applied using a reusable cotton pad. Do not combine salicylic acid (as in Clear Skin Face and Body Wash) in the same routine with glycolic acid or retinol to avoid overstimulating the skin.
