Dermalogica BioLumin-C

Vitamin C skincare for radiant, even, and firmer skin

Free radicals, UV radiation, heat, and daily environmental stress gradually damage the skin — long before fine lines, pigmentation, or dullness become visible. Vitamin C is one of the most researched and proven ingredients to prevent and correct this damage, but its effectiveness depends entirely on the stability of the formula. The Dermalogica BioLumin-C line solves this with an ultra-stable vitamin C complex that retains its full potency deep within the skin through advanced reactivation technology.

The BioLumin-C collection is a complete system of serum, eye care, moisturizer, and daily SPF — each product designed to enhance the effect of the next. Whether you are new to vitamin C in your routine or have been a loyal user for years, the line offers the right step for every use and skin condition.

Why choose the BioLumin-C line?

Vitamin C in skincare is only valuable if it is stable enough to reach the skin. Plain ascorbic acid oxidizes quickly when exposed to air and light, making many vitamin C products less active than their packaging suggests. The BioLumin-C formulas contain two ultra-stable vitamin C derivatives — Ascorbyl Methylsilanol Pectinate and Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate — supplemented with biotechnology that further increases bioavailability. This means more active vitamin C actually penetrates into the deeper skin layers, where it supports collagen production, neutralizes free radicals, and reduces pigmentation. Enhanced with peptides, hyaluronic acid, AHAs, and soothing plant extracts, each step in the line offers more than just brightness — it is a targeted approach to skin aging, hydration, and texture.

Find your ideal BioLumin-C product

The BioLumin-C line is suitable for all skin types, but the right product depends on your specific skin needs and where it fits in your routine.

For a dull complexion and uneven pigmentation, the BioLumin-C Serum forms the core of the routine. The serum penetrates deeply and delivers the vitamin C complex directly where it is needed most. Loyal users opt for the value 59ml size, while those new to the line start with the 10ml travel size.

For oily or combination skin seeking hydration without heaviness, the BioLumin-C Gel Moisturizer is the ideal finishing step. The light gel-lotion texture absorbs quickly and immediately gives the skin radiance.

Those wanting to address signs of aging around the eyes — such as dark circles, fine lines, and dullness — choose the BioLumin-C Eye Serum, specially formulated for the delicate eye area.

For a skin that wants optimal overnight repair, the BioLumin-C Night Restore Serum offers targeted nighttime renewal for a more radiant result upon waking.

Those who want to combine vitamin C and daily protection in one step choose the BioLumin-C Heat Aging Protector SPF50 — the only SPF in the line, featuring the unique ThermaRadiance Complex that protects the skin against both UV and heat-related skin aging.

For getting to know the line, the Daily Brightness Boosters Kit offers a complete three-step routine in a compact size — ideal as a starting point or for travel.

How to use the BioLumin-C line?

The BioLumin-C products are designed as a system — each product prepares the skin for the next step. A complete routine looks like this:

1. Cleanse — Start with a cleanser that prepares the skin for active ingredients. The Daily Brightness Boosters Kit contains a brightening cleanser with glycolic acid as the ideal first step.
2. Apply serum — Spread the BioLumin-C Serum over the face and neck after toner and before moisturizer. Choose the 10ml travel size for on the go or the 59ml size for daily use.
3. Eye care — Pat the BioLumin-C Eye Serum with your ring finger under the eye and along the orbital bone, before moisturizer.
4. Hydrate — Apply the BioLumin-C Gel Moisturizer in light upward motions over the face and neck.
5. Night — Optionally replace the serum in the evening with the BioLumin-C Night Restore Serum for targeted skin renewal during sleep.
6. Daily protection (morning) — Always finish your morning routine with the BioLumin-C Heat Aging Protector SPF50 as the last step, preferably 15 minutes before sun exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I combine the BioLumin-C Serum with the BioLumin-C Gel Moisturizer?

Yes, the two products are specially designed to be used together. Apply the serum first and let it absorb, then apply the gel moisturizer as the final hydration step. Always add the Heat Aging Protector SPF50 as the last step in the morning.

Is the BioLumin-C line suitable if I also use retinol?

Vitamin C and retinol are best not combined in the same step. Use the BioLumin-C Serum in the morning as part of your morning routine and retinol in the evening for the best results without interference.

Which BioLumin-C product is the best starting point if I want to introduce vitamin C new to my routine?

The Daily Brightness Boosters Kit is the ideal starting point. The kit contains three products in smaller sizes — cleanser, serum, and moisturizer — so you can fully get to know the line before investing in the full-size individual products.

How quickly are the first results visible?

Most users see a visibly brighter and more even skin tone after one to two weeks of regular use. Structural improvement of pigmentation, fine lines, and texture requires consistent application over several weeks.
