Dermalogica Body Collection

Body care with the effectiveness of professional facial skincare

The skin on your body covers over ninety percent of your total skin surface but often receives only a fraction of the attention we give to our face. Yet that body skin ages just as much, dries out, develops impurities, and loses its resilience. The Dermalogica body care line brings the level of professional skincare to your torso, arms, and legs — with active ingredients, clinically tested formulas, and a sensory experience that upgrades every routine.

Whether you struggle with dry winter skin, back acne, sagging upper arms, or simply want a daily shower product that doesn’t dry out your skin: this collection includes all the steps for a complete body routine that is just as nourishing as your facial routine.

Why choose Dermalogica body care?

What sets Dermalogica apart from standard body brands is the thoughtful ingredient approach. No synthetic fragrances, no unnecessary silicones, but carefully composed formulas with essential oils, plant-based acids, and scientifically supported active ingredients. Each product in this collection has a clear function within the routine — from gentle daily cleansing to intensive treatment — and is tailored to the characteristics of body skin, which reacts differently than facial skin.

Find your ideal product

A complete body routine consists of three to four steps: cleansing, optionally treating, and moisturizing or intensive care. For those only looking for daily basics, two products suffice, while someone with specific skin concerns benefits more from targeted additions.

Cleansing as a basic step: the Conditioning Body Wash is a soap- and sulfate-free Dermalogica body wash with pro-vitamin B5 and essential oils of lavender, sandalwood, and eucalyptus. Cleanses without drying out the skin barrier and is suitable both in the shower and at the sink as a hand soap.

Targeted against impurities: the Clarifying Body Spray is a targeted Dermalogica body spray with 1% salicylic acid and tea tree that even works upside down — ideal for reaching hard-to-access areas on the back, shoulders, and chest without needing to be flexible.

Daily hydration: the Body Hydrating Cream is a medium-weight Dermalogica body lotion with natural lactic acid, sugarcane, and apple extract. Hydrates, gently exfoliates, and gives the body skin a healthy glow. For those who prefer a richer option, this is the most used body cream in the collection.

Intensive firming: the Dynamic Skin Sculptor is an advanced body serum that firms skin texture, sharpens contours, and visibly smooths and tightens the skin. The most powerful treatment in this line for those who want more than basic care.

What else belongs in a complete body routine?

Those looking for a complete Dermalogica body care set sometimes wonder if there is also a Dermalogica body oil or body scrub. Dermalogica deliberately chooses multifunctional products instead of a separate body oil — the Body Hydrating Cream already contains a mix of plant oils and essential extracts that nourish the skin like an oil would, but without the typical greasy after-feel. For those who still prefer an oil texture, the cream can be mixed with a few drops of a neutral plant oil as desired.

The same applies to exfoliation: instead of a separate body scrub, several products in this collection already contain mild chemical exfoliants, such as the lactic acid in the Body Hydrating Cream. Those who enjoy a weekly polish can also use the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant — known as a facial exfoliant — on arms, legs, and torso. The fine grains and enzymes work just as effectively on body skin and provide an immediately smooth feeling.

How to build a complete body routine?

A thoughtful order ensures the best result. Always work from light to heavy and give each product time to absorb before moving on to the next step.

1. Cleanse the body in the shower with the Conditioning Body Wash — one to two pumps on a shower sponge is enough
2. Treat acne-prone areas after showering with the Clarifying Body Spray on dry skin and let it dry for thirty seconds
3. Hydrate the entire body with the Body Hydrating Cream on slightly damp skin for optimal absorption
4. Apply the Dynamic Skin Sculptor with massage movements to specific areas such as upper arms, abdomen, and thighs
5. Use the routine both morning and evening for the best results, with extra attention to the Body Hydrating Cream after warm showers or swimming

Frequently Asked Questions

Which products from this collection are suitable for sensitive skin?

The Conditioning Body Wash and the Body Hydrating Cream are the mildest options and suitable for most sensitive skin types. Both contain no synthetic fragrances or harsh foaming agents. The Clarifying Body Spray contains salicylic acid and is therefore stronger; for sensitive skin, first do a patch test in the crook of the elbow and wait 24 hours.

Can I also use the Clearing Skin Wash from the Active Clearing line on my body instead of a separate body wash?

Yes, that is a good approach for stubborn back acne. The Clearing Skin Wash contains 0.5% salicylic acid and works well as a cleansing product on the back, chest, and shoulders. You can combine it with the Clarifying Body Spray for maximum effect on acne-prone areas.

How long do these products last together with daily use?

With a complete daily routine using all four products, the set typically lasts two to three months. The Body Hydrating Cream and the 295ml Conditioning Body Wash are usually the first to run out, while the Dynamic Skin Sculptor lasts longer because it is used on targeted areas.

Are Dermalogica body products safe to use during pregnancy?

The Conditioning Body Wash and the Body Hydrating Cream are generally safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The Clarifying Body Spray contains salicylic acid, and the Dynamic Skin Sculptor contains active ingredients for which caution is advised — always discuss your routine with your midwife or doctor if in doubt.
