Dr Schrammek Brightening & Mela White

Dermatological line with vitamin C and SPF for pigmentation spots

Hyperpigmentation is one of the most common skin problems in adults. Dark spots occur due to a local overproduction of melanin, often triggered by UV radiation, hormonal fluctuations, aging, or inflammation in the skin after, for example, acne. Once present, they do not disappear on their own — visible results require a targeted approach that addresses pigment formation on multiple levels simultaneously.

The Brightening line from Dr Schrammek, also known as the Mela White line, is dermatologically developed for skin with hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun spots, and uneven complexion. The so-called melanobreaker formulas work on all key points of melanin production: they inhibit production, help break down existing pigment, and protect the skin against new pigment formation. The result is a more even, radiant complexion with consistent use.

Why choose the Brightening line?

Dr Schrammek’s products combine scientifically proven active ingredients with high skin tolerance. The complete Brightening line is dermatologically tested and contains clinically proven ingredients such as a double form of vitamin C, niacinamide, azelaic acid, phytic acid, and pomegranate extract. In an independent 56-day study, 89% of participants showed measurable skin brightening, and 96% a more even complexion.

What sets this line apart is the combined approach: a serum with concentrated active ingredients, a day cream with SPF50, and a night cream that allows the skin to recover overnight. Additionally, all products are free from parabens, mineral oil, silicones, and PEG-containing emulsifiers — an important advantage for skin sensitive to pigmentation treatments.

Which skin type is the Brightening line suitable for?

The Brightening products are developed for all skin types with hyperpigmentation, from mild to severe. For melasma, age spots, or pregnancy mask (chloasma), the active ingredients provide targeted support. Post-inflammatory pigmentation spots — dark spots left after acne or irritation — respond well to the combination of vitamin C and niacinamide. The line is also a valuable addition to the daily routine for mature skin with sun damage and dull complexion.

For skin with both pigmentation spots and impurities, azelaic acid in the serum is a targeted solution, as it regulates sebum production in addition to brightening. Sensitive skin should preferably build up use gradually, starting with once a day.

How do you use the Brightening line?

The products are designed to complement each other in a complete morning and evening routine. For optimal results, combine them as follows:

1. Start morning and evening with a thorough cleansing of the face
2. Then apply Schrammek Brightening Active C Serum 30ml to the cleansed skin — three to four drops from the pipette are enough for face, neck, and décolleté
3. Finish the morning routine with Schrammek Brightening Day Fluid SPF50 50ml for pigment inhibition combined with high UV protection
4. Use Schrammek Brightening Night Cream 50ml in the evening as the last step, and optionally once a week as an overnight mask for an extra brightening boost
5. Maintain the routine for at least three months — pigment reduction is a gradual process where patience and consistency are essential

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to see results?

An immediate brightening of the complexion is often visible after just a few days thanks to the optical effect of vitamin C. For lasting pigment reduction, expect at least eight to twelve weeks of consistent use. Dr Schrammek’s clinical study showed measurable results after 56 days of daily use.

Do I need to use all three products for the best result?

For optimal results, yes, because the three products together address melanin production on multiple levels. Just starting out? Then the serum and day cream with SPF50 form the most important foundation — sun protection is absolutely essential for hyperpigmentation.

Is the Brightening line suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

During pregnancy or breastfeeding, we always recommend consulting your doctor or midwife before using active skincare. Although the ingredients in this line are generally well tolerated, it is preferable to choose a milder approach during these periods.

Can I combine the Brightening line with retinol or another pigmentation product?

Yes, but use retinol only in the evening routine and build up use gradually. Do not combine pigmentation products from different brands without care — some active ingredients can amplify each other in a way that overstimulates the skin. The Brightening line is complete on its own and does not require additional pigmentation products.
