Cosmedix Moisturizer

Hydrating creams and day care for every skin type

A good moisturizer is the foundation of every skincare routine. Not as an afterthought, but as the step that determines whether moisture stays in the skin, whether the barrier withstands cold, air conditioning, and pollution, and whether the active ingredients in your serums can do their job. The Cosmedix moisturizers are developed based on this principle — each with its own focus, from light oil-free hydration to rich nourishment for the driest skin.

The range covers every need: day creams with integrated sun protection, nourishing creams for chronically dry skin, microbiome-supporting formulas for sensitive skin, and lightweight hydrators for oily and combination skin. Below you will find the right choice per skin type and time of day.

Why choose a Cosmedix moisturizer?

Cosmedix approaches hydration as more than just moisture. The formulas combine moisture-attracting ingredients with barrier-strengthening lipids and biomimetic technology such as the patented Liquid Crystal Technology — a structure that mimics the skin’s natural lipid matrix and gradually releases hydration. Additionally, the line contains targeted active ingredients: niacinamide for sebum regulation, peptides for firmness, prebiotics and probiotics for microbiome balance, and mineral sun protection for daily UV prevention.

The result is a range where there is a suitable moisturizer for every skin type — not one cream that claims to do everything, but targeted formulas that work for the specific needs of your skin.

Find your ideal moisturizer

For dry and very dry skin: The Cosmedix Emulsion Intense Hydrator is a rich, nourishing day cream with shea butter and Liquid Crystal Technology — a bestseller for chronically dry skin. The Cosmedix Humidify Deep Moisture & Firming Hydrator offers clinically proven deep hydration with colloidal oats and ceramide 2. For the night, the Cosmedix Resync Revitalizing Night Cream restores and revitalizes tired skin with snow mushroom and Kakadu plum.

For dehydrated skin: The Cosmedix Skin Thirst Moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid Cream replenishes the skin with hyaluronic acid and also provides a blurring effect that softens visible pores — popular as a primer under makeup.

For sensitive skin: The Cosmedix Harmonize Microbiome Boosting Moisturizer supports the skin microbiome with pre- and probiotics and soothes redness — suitable for reactive and post-treatment skin.

For oily and combination skin: The Cosmedix Shineless Oil-Free Moisturizer hydrates without shine and regulates sebum production. The Cosmedix Mystic Hydrating Treatment Mist delivers moisture in mist form without oil — refreshing and also usable over makeup.

For anti-aging and mature skin: The Cosmedix Elite Alt-A Daily Rejuvenating Moisturizer combines 1% bakuchiol — a safe retinol alternative — with silk tree extract for visible results without irritation.

For daily sun protection: The Cosmedix Hydrate+ Broad Spectrum SPF 17 Moisturizing Sunscreen combines hydration with mineral zinc oxide for daily use. The Cosmedix Peptide Rich Defense SPF 50 offers the highest protection with anti-aging peptides for mature or dry skin.

1. Thoroughly cleanse the face as the first step of your routine
2. Optionally apply a toner or hydrating mist such as the Cosmedix Mystic Hydrating Treatment Mist
3. Apply a serum and let it fully absorb
4. Optionally apply an eye serum around the eye contour
5. Distribute your moisturizer — for example Cosmedix Emulsion for dry skin, Cosmedix Shineless for oily skin, or Cosmedix Harmonize for sensitive skin — with gentle upward movements over face and neck
6. Always finish in the morning with sun protection such as Cosmedix Hydrate+ SPF 17 or Cosmedix Peptide Rich Defense SPF 50 as the last step
7. Use a richer night cream in the evening such as Cosmedix Resync for repair during sleep

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Cosmedix moisturizer suits my skin type?

For dry skin, Emulsion and Humidify are the best choices; for oily or combination skin, Shineless or Mystic; and for sensitive skin, Harmonize. If you have dehydrated skin that feels tight despite care, Skin Thirst with hyaluronic acid is ideal. When in doubt, you can always look at your primary skin concern — dryness, shine, redness, or dehydration — and base your choice on that.

Can I use a separate day cream and an SPF during the day?

You can, but it is not always necessary. The Cosmedix Hydrate+ SPF 17 and Peptide Rich Defense SPF 50 combine hydration and sun protection in one step. If you want to use a specific day cream (for example Harmonize or Alt-A), first apply the moisturizer, let it absorb, and finish with a separate SPF. Sun protection is the most influential anti-aging step during the day and should never be skipped.

What is the difference between a day cream and a night cream?

A day cream protects the skin during the day against environmental factors and often contains antioxidants or sun protection. A night cream like Resync is richer and focuses on repair during the skin’s natural regeneration window at night. Many skin types benefit from a lighter cream during the day and a more nourishing variant in the evening, but for sensitive or normal skin, one moisturizer for day and night may suffice.

Do I need a moisturizer if I have oily skin?

Yes. Oily skin also needs hydration — just the right kind. A cream that is too rich can clog pores, but an oil-free moisturizer like Shineless or a hydrating mist like Mystic provides moisture without shine. When oily skin is dried out by aggressive care, it actually produces more sebum — the right hydration helps prevent this.

Can I combine a moisturizer with retinol or acids?

Definitely, and it is even recommended. A moisturizer soothes the possible sensitivity caused by retinol and acids and supports the skin barrier that these ingredients can temporarily weaken. First apply the active serum on cleansed skin, let it dry for a few minutes, and then apply the moisturizer on top. For those who cannot tolerate retinol, Alt-A with bakuchiol offers a gentle alternative.
