Jane Iredale Enlighten Plus Under-eye Concealer

Concealers with SPF and brushes for dark circles under the eyes

The skin under the eyes is one of the most vulnerable areas of the face. Thin, sensitive, and exposed daily to UV radiation—a combination that intensifies dark circles, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation. A concealer that only camouflages is therefore not enough. For long-lasting results, the eye contour must also be protected against UV damage, which worsens hyperpigmentation and accelerates the formation of new pigment spots.

The Jane Iredale Enlighten Plus Under-eye Concealer collection combines full coverage with broad-spectrum sun protection based on mineral filters. The liquid formula has a curved, cooling applicator that helps reduce puffiness immediately and is enriched with Quinoa Seed Extract, Persian Silk Tree Extract, and Probiotic Ferment for visibly fresh-looking eyes. Five shades provide a suitable match from fair to deep skin, with adjusted SPF concentrations that work naturally on every skin tone. Fully vegan, gluten-free, and recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation.

Why choose Enlighten Plus Under-eye Concealer?

Enlighten Plus stands out through three elements rarely found together in one product: full coverage, broad-spectrum SPF, and a cooling applicator that reduces puffiness. While the regular Enlighten Concealer only offers a pot without SPF in two shades, Enlighten Plus includes five shades up to deep skin, a vegan formula without beeswax, and sun protection based on mineral filters. The SPF value is deliberately matched to skin tone—SPF 30 for light to medium skin, SPF 20 for medium-dark to deep skin—so no shade leaves an ashy or white cast.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Enlighten Plus shade suits me?

Follow the skin tone indication per shade as a guideline. If you are unsure between two shades, choose the one closest to your natural undertone. A concealer that is too light under the eye works counterproductively and actually accentuates dark circles. For dark circles with a blue undertone, any shade in this line works—the peach base is deliberately chosen to visually neutralize blue and purple tones.

Why does each shade have a different SPF value?

The SPF is determined by the concentration of mineral filters (Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide). No. 0, No. 1, and No. 2 contain higher percentages for SPF 30. No. 3 and No. 4 deliberately have a lower concentration (SPF 20) to avoid leaving a white or ashy cast on dark skin. Both levels provide effective protection for the delicate eye contour.

Which brush works best for this concealer?

The built-in curved applicator on the tube itself already blends the dots well with a cooling effect. For finer blending on the inner eye corner or tear trough, the Concealer Brush works perfectly because the angled head follows the cup shape of the under-eye lid. For targeted spot coverage on pigment spots or bruises elsewhere on the face, the Camouflage Brush is ideal.

Is Enlighten Plus Under-eye Concealer vegan?

Yes, all five shades of Enlighten Plus are fully vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free. This is an important difference from the regular Enlighten Concealer (pot), which contains beeswax and is therefore not vegan. The Concealer Brush and Camouflage Brush are also vegan thanks to their synthetic fibers.

Can I combine Enlighten Plus with other sun protection?

Yes. First apply your regular sunscreen on the face and let it absorb well, then apply Enlighten Plus on the eye contour. The SPF values do not add up, but it ensures that the delicate eye area—which is often avoided with regular sun protection due to sensitivity—is still well protected.
