Jane Iredale Powder Me SPF30 Dry Sunscreen

Mineral powder sunscreen SPF 30 for on-the-go and over makeup

The Jane Iredale Powder Me SPF30 Dry Sunscreen is a mineral powder sunscreen that you brush on your face, body, or scalp in seconds — even over your makeup. Based on titanium dioxide, the powder protects immediately against UVA and UVB rays after application, without a greasy layer or white cast. This collection bundles all variants: the refillable brush in four colors and the matching refill sets, so you can choose the exact shade and size that suits you.

Daily reapplication of sun protection is a weak point in many people's routines, precisely because a cream disrupts makeup. A dry powder solves that: you brush it on effortlessly and your look stays intact. The formula is also water-resistant for up to 40 minutes, reef-safe, and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Why choose a powder sunscreen?

A powder sunscreen combines two things that are difficult to achieve in a cream: daily sun protection and ease of reapplication. Because the powder is dry, you can apply it over full makeup without smudging, making it ideal for on-the-go and touch-ups. The mineral action with titanium dioxide means the protection is active immediately after application, unlike chemical filters that need time to absorb. Additionally, the powder sits on the skin's surface and reflects the rays, making the formula gentle for sensitive skin. The refillable design also makes it a sustainable choice: you only replace the powder and keep your brush.

Find your ideal shade

The four colors mainly differ in how much color they add to the skin, from completely transparent to a warm, deeper shade. Choose based on your skin tone and whether you want visible color or not.

For those who want no color or have light skin, there is the Powder Me SPF30 Translucent, which remains completely transparent. A light to medium skin tone seeking a natural, neutral shade chooses the Powder Me SPF30 Nude. For medium to tan skin, the Powder Me SPF30 Golden gives a warm, sun-kissed glow. And for tan to dark skin, there is the Powder Me SPF30 Tanned, the darkest and warmest shade in the range.

Brush or refill?

Each color is available as a standalone brush and as a refill set. The brush contains the refillable applicator with powder and is the right choice if you have never had a Powder Me before. If you already have the brush, you can refill more affordably and sustainably with a refill set of three jars in the same color.

The refills are available in Translucent, Nude, Golden, and Tanned, each matching the corresponding brush shade.

How do you use a powder sunscreen?

1. Place a refill jar into the bottom of the brush and twist it tight (for a new refill); this is already done for the standalone brush
2. Turn the bottom of the brush to the open position until you hear a click
3. Shake the brush with the head down so the powder flows into the bristles
4. Apply the powder generously and evenly to face, body, or scalp
5. Reapply throughout the day after every 40 minutes in the sun, swimming, or sweating, and turn the bottom back to the closed position after use

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the brush and the refill?

The brush contains the refillable applicator with powder and is intended for those who do not yet have a Powder Me. The refill set contains only three refill jars with powder, without a brush, and is meant to refill your existing brush. The refill is therefore more cost-effective per gram and more sustainable.

Which shade should I choose?

That depends on your skin tone and whether you want visible color. Translucent is transparent and adds no color, Nude gives a light natural tint for light to medium skin, Golden gives a warm glow for medium to tan skin, and Tanned is the darkest shade for tan to dark skin.

Can I apply this sunscreen over my makeup?

Yes, that is one of the main advantages. Because it is a dry powder, you brush it over your finished makeup without smudging it. This makes it ideal for touch-ups throughout the day.

Is this powder sunscreen suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. The mineral formula works with titanium dioxide and soothing clay instead of chemical UV filters, making it gentle and suitable for sensitive skin. Note that the Tanned shade contains different color pigments than the other variants.
