Dermalogica PowerBright

PowerBright skincare against pigmentation spots and uneven skin tone

The Dermalogica PowerBright line is specially developed for skin that targets hyperpigmentation, pigmentation spots, and uneven tone. Whether it’s UV pigmentation spots after sun exposure, melasma due to hormonal fluctuations, or post-acne marks: this targeted skincare line addresses the problem on multiple levels.

Pigmentation spots lie deeper in the skin than many regular products can reach. A successful approach therefore combines a daily brightening serum, targeted exfoliation, a rich night cream, and above all a high SPF that prevents new pigmentation formation. The PowerBright collection offers all these steps in one coherent system, clinically tested on a wide range of skin tones.

Why choose the PowerBright line?

The PowerBright line stands out due to the combination of hexylresorcinol, niacinamide, and stable vitamin C as core actives. Hexylresorcinol is regarded by skin experts as a well-tolerated and scientifically supported alternative to hydroquinone. In combination with niacinamide and vitamin C, both melanin production and its transfer to the upper skin cells are inhibited. The result is a targeted approach to existing pigmentation spots and prevention of new spots — without aggressive formulas that burden the skin barrier.

Find your ideal PowerBright product

For those who want to get acquainted with the line: The Dermalogica Dark Spot Solutions Kit is the ideal starter. Three travel-size products — serum, SPF50 moisturizer, and night cream — offer a complete 37ml routine for on the go or as an introduction to the PowerBright formulas.

For those who want to work intensively on pigmentation: The Dermalogica PowerBright Dark Spot System contains two full-size products — the Peel and the Serum — for a targeted two-pronged approach alongside your existing moisturizer and SPF.

For those who want to build the routine separately: The PowerBright Dark Spot Serum is the basis for the morning routine, the PowerBright Moisturizer SPF50 provides essential sun protection during the day, and the PowerBright Overnight Cream supports repair and brightening overnight. For extra intensity, use the PowerBright Dark Spot Peel two to three times a week.

How to use the PowerBright line?

1. Start in the morning with a thorough cleanser and optionally a toner suitable for your skin type
2. Apply one pump of PowerBright Dark Spot Serum to face and neck and let it absorb for one minute
3. Always finish the morning routine with PowerBright Moisturizer SPF50, at least 30 minutes before sun exposure
4. Cleanse again in the evening and apply the Dark Spot Serum, followed by the PowerBright Overnight Cream as the last step
5. Use the PowerBright Dark Spot Peel two to three times a week in the evening instead of the serum, leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, and rinse thoroughly

Frequently Asked Questions

For which skin type is the PowerBright line suitable?

The PowerBright formulas are developed for all skin types and clinically tested on Fitzpatrick skin tones I through IV. If you have very sensitive or irritated skin, build up use gradually by starting the Peel every other day and preferably using the Serum in the morning routine.

How quickly will I see results with this line?

The first fading of pigmentation spots is often visible within a few days of daily use thanks to the light-diffusing technology in the Serum. For lasting results, a usage period of at least 4 to 8 weeks is recommended, as pigmentation is addressed layer by layer.

Can I combine PowerBright with retinol or vitamin C?

Yes, both combinations are possible. Use a vitamin C serum in the morning routine before the Dark Spot Serum, and reserve retinol for the evening routine after the Overnight Cream. On days you use the Peel, it’s best to skip retinol to avoid skin irritation.

What is the difference between the Dark Spot Solutions Kit and the Dark Spot System?

The Dark Spot Solutions Kit contains three travel-size products — Serum, SPF50 Moisturizer, and Overnight Cream — for a complete morning and evening routine of 37ml. The Dark Spot System contains two full-size products — Peel and Serum — for a more intensive, targeted approach alongside your existing moisturizer and SPF.
