Description
Talc-free loose setting powder in Light for a soft matte finish
A loose setting powder sets your makeup in a fine, airy layer and is handy for refreshing your skin during the day. Youngblood Loose Mineral Rice Setting Powder in Light is a talc-free, oil-absorbing finishing powder that, according to Youngblood, is designed for skin that stays balanced all day. It helps soften the look of pores and texture and keeps shine under control, with a natural, soft matte finish.
The ultra-lightweight formula settles evenly over your foundation without feeling heavy. Rice starch creates a silky soft-focus effect, corn starch absorbs excess oil, and parsley, cucumber and marshmallow root extract help refine the complexion. The coverage is light: the powder finishes your makeup and does not replace foundation. You will mainly use the 10 g jar at home at your makeup table.
Shade: Light is the lightest of the four shades and in the photos appears as a creamy white powder with a soft, light look. Choose Light if you are looking for a light powder shade that adds as little colour as possible to your makeup. The other shades are Medium (warm beige), Tan (golden beige) and Pink (soft pink). Not sure which shade suits your skin and foundation? Send us a WhatsApp message with a photo in daylight and we'll help you decide.

Active ingredients
Two types of starch provide the matte finish, mica the silky texture, and three plant extracts help refine the complexion, according to Youngblood:
Rice starch: Keeps shine under control and helps blur the look of pores and texture. It creates the silky soft-focus effect and supports longer wear of your makeup.
Corn starch: Absorbs excess skin oil and so helps keep the skin balanced. As a result, the finish stays matte for longer, even on the T-zone.
Mica: Youngblood uses ethically sourced mica. It adds a subtle sheen and a silky-smooth texture, so the powder looks soft on the skin.
Parsley extract: Helps support a balanced, refreshed complexion. Together with the other plant extracts, it contributes to a smooth, shine-free finish.
Cucumber extract: Helps comfort and soothe the skin, so the powder feels comfortable.
Marshmallow root extract: According to Youngblood, it calms redness and hydrates the skin. It is the third plant extract that helps refine the complexion.
How to use
- Apply your foundation and concealer and let them set for a moment
- Pick up a little powder with the YB2 Powder Luxe Brush or the YB1 Kabuki Luxe Brush and tap away any excess. With loose powder this is extra important, as otherwise you quickly apply too much
- Gently press and sweep the powder over the areas that get shiny quickly, especially the T-zone
- Use soft, circular motions to soften the texture and set your makeup
- Touch up in between wherever the skin starts to shine again
Suitable for
- All skin types, according to Youngblood
- Anyone who wants to set foundation and concealer with a light, creamy white shade
- Anyone looking for a talc-free powder
- Anyone who prefers a loose powder for a fine, airy layer
Frequently asked questions
Is Light the right shade for me?
That depends on your skin and the foundation you wear. Light is the lightest of the four shades: a creamy white powder with a soft, light look. Because the coverage is light, the powder sits as a thin layer over your makeup, but on a deeper skin tone a powder that is too light can still leave a white cast. Compare the photos with your skin, or send us a WhatsApp message with a photo in daylight and we'll help you decide.
Which skin type is this setting powder meant for?
According to Youngblood, the powder is suitable for all skin types. It gives light coverage and a natural, matte finish. Because it absorbs oil, you notice the effect most on areas that get shiny quickly. If your skin is on the drier side, use only a little powder and focus on the T-zone.
Which brush do I use for this loose powder?
Youngblood recommends the YB2 Powder Luxe Brush or the YB1 Kabuki Luxe Brush. Pick up only a little powder, tap away the excess and then press it gently onto the skin. This way you build up the layer gradually and your makeup keeps looking natural.
What is the difference with the pressed version?
This loose version is a loose powder in a 10 g jar and, according to Youngblood, is suitable for all skin types, with parsley, cucumber and marshmallow root extract, among others. The Pressed Mineral Rice Setting Powder in Light is a pressed powder in an 8 g compact, with jojoba oil, green tea and honeysuckle extract, meant for normal, combination and oily skin. If you mainly touch up on the go, the compact is more practical.
